Mandela

Sometimes when a tree falls

We are surprised

Even though we knew

It could not stand forever

Even giants need to sleep

Even heroes need to cry

Everyone must pray.

Rest well

Be glad

The seeds you planted

In the heart of our despair

Will surely flourish

A forest of hope

A canopy of love.

Your legacy.

Our grandchildren

Will remember

To tell their children

To remember

To be grateful.

To keep your dream

Alive.
